Way back in march 1988, Tamiya unleashed what was to become one of their most famous 4×4 of road buggies, in fact one of the most memorable radio controlled buggies of all time, the Avante. This now legendary machine was and still is highly sought after by RC enthusiasts and collectors worldwide, and in 2011, Tamiya brought the original model back to life in the form of the Avante 2011.

The original machine featured a highly sophisticated and advanced design which set new limits for Radio Controlled Car design back in the day, including a shaft driven 4 wheel drive system, an FRP double-deck chassis layout along with a longitudinally mounted motor and battery pack.

Now, more than 20 years after the original hit the shelves and captured the imagination of RC enthusiasts worldwide, Tamiya has given the Avante the re-release treatment, waving its magic wand yet again to produce this new model.

Tamiya have stayed true to the original model, whilst embracing a few new technologies and advancements along the way. The FRP chassis decks have been replaced by carbon fibre ones, and the front knuckles are made from much stronger and durable aluminium rather than plastic.

The drive train has two very compact gearboxes which are equipped with 3 small planetary gears, a centre differential until along with front and rear universal shafts to efficiently transmit all the power from the included 25T motor to the wheels.
